My son was turning 11 and loves fishing. He loves fishing and has a bucket list, of those species he has seen and studied but never caught. Brian Barton was the perfect guide to help me. Brian took time to listen to what we were after, got a game plan for us, and ran all over the lake to add a couple extra species to my son’s list. Brian’s boat, gear, and relaxed manner set us up for a great afternoon. I quickly realized the importance of having someone who has spent his entire life on this part of the river. We hit a couple of “ holes “ he said would have the species we wanted and they did. My son got all his bucket list of species plus a couple to boot. Brian was a total professional and delivered the perfect birthday trip for my son. After 120 plus pounds of fish, we were worn out and loving life. Thanks Brian and look forward to next year.

When I reached out to Captain Brian about a fishing trip I didn't know what to expect. My wife and I have never been on a fishing trip with a guide. From the time we got in the boat till we departed from the boat ramp it was a first class experience. The weather was warm and the current wasn't moving and Brian said it might be slow today. His definition of slow and ours is very different. We caught 33 fish in four hours. We caught smallmouth bass, spotted bass, largemouth bass, walleye, two kinds of catfish and the biggest freshwater drum I've ever seen. It was the most fun we've ever had on a fishing trip. Not only was Brian working dilligently to keep us baited, take our fish off, and tie hooks, he also shared a wealth of knowledge about fishing, the local river, and local music history. It was a fun and educational experience. We plan on returning in May next year for some bream fishing with him. He is a first class Southern gentlemen who made a couple " yankees " feel right at home.
